Seniors

One of my top priorities in the legislature has been supporting seniors and addressing the issues that affect them.

 

I proudly co-sponsored Senate Bill 18 to expedite court proceedings when a victim or witness is an elder person. This would minimize the length of time under which an elder person would have to endure the stress of a court case, and ensure that they receive timely results.

I will continue working to establish a permanent waiver for SeniorCare so that this indispensable program that helps seniors access their medications, and saves taxpayers’ money, continues.

I also supported Governor Evers’ proposals for a family caregiver tax credit. This legislation had bipartisan support in the past and it would provide support for 600,000 people who provide care for adult family members.
